Donor Grant Materials
Studies
This research compared three messaging conditions to a control and to each other. Two studies were conducted, an initial study (November 2017 to March 2018) and an exact replication (July 2018 to December 2018). The three messaging conditions focused on how anyone is eligible to register as an organ donor (eligibility), how many lives are in need of saving and are saved by organ donation, (saving lives), and how being an organ donor can be experienced as beneficial to organ donors' families (family benefits).
In this research there three messaging conditions. The three messaging conditions focused on how anyone is eligible to register as an organ donor (eligibility), how a person needs to take care of their family, and how organ donation can help meet that need, (family needs), and how many people agree that organ donation benefits donor families (family norms). Two studies were conducted using these materials. The first compared these three conditions to a control (May to October 2019). The second compared the eligibility to a control, and the combination of eligibility, family needs and family norms to a control (October 2019 to February 2020).
